How we will live through this great divide
There are those who propose to pull us down
Into misery and destroy our sacred ground
While others invite us all to unite
To live our potential and set things right
To basic rights can we all agree?
To be unharmed and be free
To do that which comes naturally
To treat each other respectfully
To live on our planet sustainably
To steward Earth’s garden carefully
On the other side is anger and pain
Only valuing money to gain
More possessions to ease despair
Trapped within the spider’s lair
Casting webs to catch what they can
Sucking life force to bring on the end
Now is the time for us to arise
Sending out love and to devise
Ways to reach and heal every heart
To open doors and to start
To bring together humanity
As one harmonious family
Helping each other find the way
Acting with kindness day by day
Knowing there is no wrong or right
No war to wage or others to fight
We’re in this together, each and all
We have a choice to rise or fall
A weaponized world will never be
A safe place for all, can we not see?
To lay down our arms we must all agree
To live together cooperatively
Finding solutions diplomatically
Respecting differences culturally
Now is the time for us to decide
How we will act in this time of divide
Dedicate yourself to make decisions
That bridge and heal all divisions
Live your love and ways devise
For us all together to arise
Spread your wings and open your mind
In every action it’s best to be kind
Holding your tongue and stepping back
If all you want to do is attack
Do your best to find another way
To communicate what you have to say
Compassion and kindness are the keys
To heal pain and answer all pleas
Through understanding we can proceed
To provide essentials that people need
Shelter, family, health and community
Right livelihood and freedom for all can be
Now is the time for us to begin
To take the steps so we all can win
A world that supports us to heal our pain
Where opportunities abound for us to gain
Lives of health and creativity
With love expressed passionately
Reach out to those on the other side
Begin to bridge the great divide
Ask what is it that they most need
Listen deeply to all and find what’s agreed
Create a bond and go from there
Expressing all the ways you care
Step by step through all our days
Invite others to consider other ways
To live together on our planet blue
